<p><font face="Verdana">&nbsp;In recent years, China's power industry experienced rapid growth; particularly, the construction and operation of a number of generating units with high-parameters, high-efficiency and large-capacity played a positive role in promoting efficient and clean production of China's power industry. Two sets of 1-million-kilowatt units of Zouxian Power Plant of Huadian Power International Corporation Limited (“HPIC”) are among the supporting projects for localization of imported technologies for 1-million-kilowatt ultra-supercritical thermal power units, which have attracting highly attention from society since its start. The first batch of concrete in the construction was poured on 15 January 2005. Unit No. 7 was put into operation and commenced power generating on 4 December 2006; Unit No. 8 commenced power generating on 5 July 2007. The operation of the two sets of 1-million-kilowatt generating units created a domestic record for 1-million-kilowatt thermal power units due to their admirable safety and speedy construction, short trial operation time, high project quality, environmental protection and energy saving. Premier Wen Jiabao made important special instructions: "I’d like to express my congratulations to the operation of the 1-million-kilowatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired units of HPIC. You should accumulate experience and make more efforts to ensure safe and smooth operation of the units.” Vice Premier Zeng Peiyan also made instructions and extended his congratulations. Unit No. 7 was awarded the landmark unit with a breakthrough installed capacity of 600 million kilowatt in China, and the landmark unit with a breakthrough installed capacity of 50 million kilowatt in China Huadian Corporation. </font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana">&nbsp;I. Project Overview </font></p>
<p><font face="Verdana">&nbsp;Built in 1983, HPIC Zouxian Power Plant is a backbone company of China Huadian Corporation and HPIC. It is one of the leading thermal power plants in China, managing and operating four 335,000kw units, two 600,000kw units and two 1,000,000kw ultra-supercritical units,with a total installed capacity of 4.54 million kilowatts. </font></p><br/>
